Owner/Audiologist Linda Lee Nelson
Linda Lee Nelson has worked for 20 years, eleven of those locally, as a certified clinical audiologist providing professional hearing evaluation, screening, diagnosis, and fitting for the latest in hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
Besides her professional training and experience, Nelson says having a hearing loss of her own has made her sensitive and knowledgeable of her patients needs. She says it has also made her attentive to how hearing losses can affect a persons quality of life. Her own hearing loss spurred her on to concentrate on audiology and earn a masters degree in hearing sciences from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. She also has an undergraduate degree in speech and hearing from the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA.
Linda states, I believe I can better understand what patients are going through and appreciate not only the technical aspects of how to help them, but I can also understand the human side of dealing with hearing loss.
Linda purchased Northwest Audiology and Hearing Aid Center in 1994 after working more than a year and a half for the previous owner. She said helping people with their hearing and ear related problems allows her to apply real science to individual situations and work with patients to find ways to best improve their quality of life, given their lifestyle and considering social and family factors.
